Meeting of Styles

Last weekend was the world-wide Meeting of Styles, the London one was in Bacon Street, off Brick Lane. Most of it is not really my cup of tea, but it was amazing to watch all these artists out in force with their spraycans, and you have to marvel at their skill. I wish I could take the kids to see it, but clearly SATS SATS SATS and TESTS TESTS TESTS are more important than seeing live street art from artists all over the world in their local area...

Check out some more on Flickr.

Art is no good for the economy. Get back to teaching the little fuckers how to be good consumers.

Too right, LC.

Also, art should only be inside galleries and available to the few, like rich collectors -that's why the police and local council tried their best to shut it down.

Oooh lovely. I am all about this. Been trying to make my own art with spray cans, and it ain't as easy as it looks. Still, always fun making a bit of a mess, innit?

Del, me too. Let's start a new movement - Messism.

There are specialist magazines for that sort of thing.

I like Messism. It's like a semi-surrealist-post-progressive-deconstructivism kind of vibe. I nominate myself as the Messism Messiah.
