Pop Quiz 2

If you would like to cut and paste as suggested by Mr Sevitz, details are:

Pop Quiz at the Retro Bar
Tuesday 12 September - quiz starts at 9 pm
Retro Bar, 2 George Court, off The Strand
Nearest tube Charing Cross

Following on from this post...

£1.00 for a teams of up to 4. Bargain. It starts at 9.00 pm, I should say.

With thanks to the lovely Adrian for the recommendation. Going to check it out on Tuesday to see what it's like. It's a gay bar but friendly and mixed (so I'm told.) Spread the word, invite your readers, other halfs, friends, etc...

Email me if you want so I have an idea of numbers.

Eek. I'm not sure how mixed it is, said he rushing in with a disclaimer. I think one or two teams would be ok, but don't turn up with a hoard of 13 teams or anything!

For the record, I stumbled there last December and was joined onto a team with 2 other guys. I was proper useless, didn't get one answer.

But you're going to check it out on Tuesday (as I've just noticed), so you'll work this out for yourself.

Hilariously, if you went tonight, you'd find their monthly Eurovision night. It is brilliant fun.

Pop quiz at a gay bar? Splendid, I'm there.

Don't you worry Adrian, knowing my powers of organisation even one team will be optimistic. I fully expect to be the most useless on the team too...

Billy - hurrah!

Added to my calendar.

p.s. You might want to put the details in text below the image so we can cut and paste it too.

Hope there'll be a next time...

Natalie - rah! Dinner in town, life is hard...

Ah Anxious, I'm sorry petal - Tuesday night wouldn't have been my choice either (especially starting at 9.00 pm on a school night.) But it was quite literally the only pop music quiz night I could find. Maybe if it works out we can do our own quiz and we will make it on a weekend.

Hurray for Adrian(S)! Yes sir, will add text.

There's a Eurovision night in this bar? I might have to fly in...

Annie said...

BiB, I beg of you, google "Troubled Diva" and "Eurovision" then "Little Red Boat" and Eurovision". You have hours of fun ahead of you.

Annie, I have had to tear myself away. I could read Eurovision-related stuff for ever and ever. And must check out that London pub's Eurovision night on my next trip to the Big Smoke.

Annie - not quite a pop quiz, but if you're looking for another group experience, why not try Brian's bar (The Legend on Old Street) for their Kareoke night - I know, I know, you wouldn´t do it in a million years, but it´s such a hoot just to go and watch the so called trendy people make as big a tits of themselves as you or I would screeching out 80´s classics. When I was there (and yes, I did have a go - Theme from Fame, since you ask) there was a man with only a face beard (ie no moustache) who looked like DH Lawrence singing Tainted Love, and lots of girls in tutus singing Kate Bush. Hillarius!! Also prizes on offer for everyone who signs. Not sure which nights its on, but Bad Sarah will know...

I mean prizes for everyone who sings, not signs - although why not kareoke for the hearing impaired??

that sounds good lets go there.

Annie said...

BiB - take me with you!

Em, I'm not doing it without you. Still holding out for hiphop karaoke and our triumph as the white North London Salt n' Pepa. Ha ha, signing, have you ever seen this video of the man miming to Natalie Imbruglia's Torn?

G, okay - where are you? In sunny Spain?
