Flagging...

Slaminsky is closed for refurbishment until 2007 (and may even return with new premises and a new name) we wish all our valued customers a happy holiday...

In the meantime, please enjoy some light elevator music.

I made this as a CD for a friend of mine, but before I could give it to her she split up with her boyfriend, and I realised it contained a fair few about Love Gone Wrong and was not appropriate to someone who had just had their heart broken. Couldn't just waste it though...

It's more or less about guitars;

Astrud Gilberto - Berimbau
Donovan - Season of the Witch
Terry Callier - You're Goin' Miss Your Candyman
Sheryl Crow - Strong Enough
Dr John - I Walk On Gilded Splinters
Beck - Lost Cause
Bobbie Gentry - Ode to Billy Joe
Blind Faith - Can't Find My Way Home
Aqualung - Brighter Than Sunshine

2007? Nooooo!!

Still, podcasts ease the pain.

Really no more posts for that long. Will miss ya. Ta for the music.

2007? New Premises?! New Name?!?!

Curiouser and curiouser. I'm like, totally intrigued.

On a completely unrelated subject, I still haven't finished that jar of Marmite you brought me! Addict or not, half a kilo of the browney-black stuff is a LOT. I shall shed a little tear when it's gone.

Please come back exactly the same. That's the way (u-huh u-huh) we like it, I mean you.

really? that's a shock, hope you're ok and have a good Christmas anyway.

So early! But thank you for the music (and, again, for the car). It's soothing my ears as I tackle a spectacularly dreary bit of work. Festive greetings and all that and come back soon.

I do like it when people are evasive and enigmatic. Have a nice rest (if a nice rest is what you're having). Bobbie Gentry! Excellent.

Gosh, where will we be without you? Look forward to the new look, though - and also if you're around on Monday night (11th) and fancy it, I'll be at 93 Feet East in Brick Lane watching Viva Voce and Tunng do their thing.

The new premises wouldn't begin with 'W', would they? Hee hee, it's like going into the 6th form.

Beautiful mix!
I'll just have to leave it on while working.
Have a good break, Annie!

Aw, thanks everybody, it's nice to feel wanted, and glad you like the music. Just having a little break. Patroclus, how could I resist a band called Tunng? Do they still have tickets then?

patroclus said...

Not sure, but I very much doubt it'll be sold out.

Gorgeous tracks. Have a good break and please, PLEASE, let me know where you re-appear. I always miss these things, so if you don't tell me don't expect any comments for at least 6 months until I stumbled across your new site.

Of course, posting a comment like this some, um, 5 days late might not be the most persuasive argument..

Annie, I'm so tempted to grass you up it's not true...

Annie said...

Thank you Gordon, I'm touched.

BiB, don't grass me up, pretty please! I'm trying to shake a stalker, believe it or not...

F*ck. Sorry. Please delete my comment(s) if it'll help and I'll delete anything incriminating too.

don't you worry your pretty head about it, BiB x
