The Evil Poor

Do you think they're closing in on rich people with off-shore bank accounts and dodgy accountants who look for tax loopholes? No?

Hmmm... Thought not...

Argh. Don't get me started...

I'm sure the Government are also going to be monitoring the banks to see what they do with all that money they're throwing at them to help them "recover" after all the faulty investments they made.

Oh yes.

"Something decent to watch on the telly at last," says Thatcher.

Even if they did make a concerted effort over super-rich tax dodgers, there would be no point in having a TV advert about it. As Noel Coward said, "Television is for being on, not watching."

The rich have people to watch telly for them.

And thank goodness! With the nanny now on minimum wage and the third floor to renovate, I just don't know how we're going to afford the Alps this year.

Mind you the politicians are getting desperate for funds. You could probably offset benefit fraud with a small donation to the political party of your choice. Like protection money to the mafia.

Surely it can't be that difficult to track down benefit fraudsters. As we've seen from the ads, the men are always bald and unshaven, and the women monstrously obese. Granted the majority of the werking clesses look leke thet, but stil....

Go on Clair, you know you want to...

Betty, it doesn't matter, it's just monopoly money after all...

Geoff, WELL EXACTLY! New Labour make old school Tories seem like idealistic wafty liberals.

Tim, too true. But could the money spent on this campaign not have been spent on going after the real thieves?

Boz, an excellent suggestion, you should email the Treasury.

Del, LOL! It's so true.

These adverts are quite morally reprehensible, they kind of remind me of Nazi propaganda which compared Jews to rats.

I think these scumbags should all be rounded up and put to work - in the financial services industry, where their talent for fraud and making money without doing any actual work will be put to good use.

All that said, my sympathy disappears when I see the tax and national insurance disappear from my pay packet each month. Lock em up!

Did you know that the government sold all the Inland Revenue buildings off to a company that has all it's money in offshore bank accounts?

Del, it’s the Philip Greens you want to keep an eye on, not the bloke claiming dole whilst working at a bar. He paid himself a dividend of £1.2 billion. He didn’t pay any tax on it because he paid it to his wife, who officially lives in Monaco. So that’s nice for them.

Rad, I didn’t know, but it doesn’t surprise me.

I’d understood that benefit fraud was mainly people claiming when they were working, probably at cash in hand jobs. ie they are supplementing their income, because benefits are not enough to live on, and neither are their wages. I don’t really have a problem with that – did you know there is a huge pool of unclaimed money, a far bigger sum than is being defrauded, because people don’t realise they are entitled to them, or they don’t know how to claim? That’s why you always see those ads being run for child tax credits, etc etc.

I don’t get what these adverts are for, seeing that they are total nonsense – or rather, I think they’re pure propaganda. As Del points out. It’s misinformation and misdirection. Look over there whilst we pickpocket you…

Evil, scum sucking working classes, bringing the economy to its knees… like not so long ago, they were trying to spin it that rising inflation was due to public sector pay. Evil, scum sucking nurses and fireman!

The thing about poor people is they smell rubbish. They're just asking for trouble.

Yes, they are overweight and have bad hair too. They should be made to live underground, like the Morlocks in the Time Machine.
