Spring blogging resolutions

NB: Update - Reports of my ennui have been greatly exaggerated. It wasn't me that said it! It was Wyndham! Blame Wyndham!

Less posts
More quality
No naming actual people, events or places I know (- I always get in trouble over it.)
Removal of site meter (honestly, who cares? I was in ignorant bliss before I installed the damn thing.)
Finding more I like to replace our fallen colleagues.

That is all.

Is it me or does blog world seem really tired at the moment. It feels like the last days of the Roman Empire out there.

I hate the sitemeter thing too. I've been trying to think of some interesting collaborative blog idea but I'm out of ideas. Any thoughts?

I'm having a sort of Wyndham moment about blogging of late but am soldiering on regardless for the moment. It does seem a little tired out there but I am not sure why. Perhaps blogging is not so 'different' anymore - everyone and everything has a blog...

Bollocks - more posts, less quality. That's what teh intarnets are all about.

the thing about getting rid of the site meter is then when you inevitably decide you want it back won't it be depressingly reset to zero?

Some people's blogs might have been getting tired and old, but mine's dead consistent - always been boring and still boring today.

I increasingly find that I'm just putting up kitschy YouTube vids without having anything interesting to say about them.

Wyndham, People we read might be running out of steam but new and excitable young things are discovering the pleasures of blogs every day now. I like to think of it as like a Hydra - cut off one head, and more heads will grow. Or something.

Billy, I did have an idea for a bra blog, but don't know if this would appeal to you. I will have a think.

RoMo - yes it used to be secretive and clandestine and exciting, like having a fetish (so I'm told *cough*) but now it's like having an email address. Not so radical...

LC - More posts? ha!! That's rich coming from you! You razed yours to the ground.

Hi Tara - yup, that's what happened when I got rid of it before. It's not the stats that interests me so much as how people find it, though.

Timorous Beastie - now don't be putting your blog down. I know what you mean though, sometimes I bore myself senseless.

Tim, I do love YouTube though, more and more.

Well, I was never a prolific blogger and even that seems to have tailed off this year. But i'm still reading plenty (all you lot up there) so don't give up!

I like the bra blog idea, and so does Billy, I'm sure.

Bra blog good. Could be the new girlwithaonetrackmind, I reckon. Book deal ahoy.

And yes, sitemeter is evil. Especially when it tells you that your ex's have been reading. This is never ever a good thing. And yet still I don't delete it... Sigh.

My motto is "Get 'em out there and keep 'em short".

Otherwise it's gonna die.

Billy said...

I agree with Tim, bras are good.

Annie said...

Er, if it ever happens, there will only be actual bras on the bra blog. My budget doesn't run to underwear models or photoshoots or anything. (Wouldn't want to set up false expectations.)

Del - exes! *shudder*

Please don't cut me off. I promise to blog more. Honest.
I think Facebook's a little bit to blame.

I seem to be in rampant blog-enthusiasm mode, but that's probably just hormones.

A bra blog, that sounds BRILLIANT. Bras are one of my favourite things in the world, after Earl Grey tea and Neal Stephenson.

Annie said...

Seriously, it's just us. We need to find some new blonkers to keep us on our toes.

ara, whingebags.

Annie S, i really like your blog and i wish you'd post more often and about actual people, events and places. more facelicking, i say! the minutiae of other people's lives related with humour and flair is what i enjoy about reading blogs (which is why Annie R is such a favourite).

i hate bras though.

patroclus said...

I'd contribute to a group bra blog. I could write about the technical difficulties and conflicting cultural signifiers involved in buying bras when pregnant. Annie, you could write about nice bras, and Rosie could write about why she hates bras.

Let's set up a bra blog, go on go on go on go on go on go on.

Look, I'm really meant to be packing. Bad distracting bloggers...

Rad ducky, you are irreplaceable.

Annie, have you read Bete de Jour? He is a wonder and a marvel:
betedejour.blogspot.com

Rosie, thank you my love, I like yours too. I also like ara, though I have only a vague idea of when you say it, and will try it at the next opportunity.

Patroclus, I'm more than happy to set up a group bra blog, but can we really sustain a whole blog on bras? *drifts off into fantasies of nice parcels arriving from Princesse Tam Tam every week*

patroclus said...

I'm envisaging a kind of feminist bra blog, reclaiming lingerie for the sisterhood and all that. With Mrs Mouse at the masthead. And pictures of lovely bras. And - yes - nice parcels arriving from Princesse Tam-Tam every week.

If we run out of things to say, we could always branch out into pants.

Rosie said...

hmm, not mad about pants either.

Less posts? Blimey, I'm only just catching up on a whole heap of your posts ;)

i wanted to develop a documentary series - or maybe a one off - about shopping for bras. i think it's incredibly revealing and intimate. close to the - er - heart, as it were.

GreatSheElephant said...

I have become embarrassed about how negative I am on my blog (although it's nowhere near as negative as I am in real life).

I don't think I can even be positive about bras. Bras come into the same category as shopping for spectacles and shoes that are comfy - an unpleasant reminder of my physical inadequacies.

Oh, I am so late to this bra blogging thing! Let's get hold of overtheshoulderboulderholder@blogspot.com!
