One for the ladies (and the fashion-forward men) as Halp is closed for business at the moment.
I bought a silver dress from Beyond Retro but it has a split right up the middle. If I was Sienna Miller (or this was the 60s, the era of this dress) I'd probably wear it with only my pants on and look fabulous, but don't really have the legs to carry this look off. What should I wear underneath, fashionistas?

Nothing.
No one will notice your legs. :D
I second mr rad!
go 60s style!
Black tights and ankle boots if it's not split up TOO high; otherwise some tight black/grey skinny jeans and black or grey ballet pumps.
Lovely, lovely dress, Slammo. Tops/dresses like this are very forgiving when the not wafer thin wear a good pair of skinny jeans. I love this.
You could try opaque tights and boots of any length.
A pair of narrow black capri pants might work if skinny jeans come up too severe. And I second the black flats.
Thinking about it, a pair of black velvet loon pants might work aswell, but when do we ever have those lying around the place, eh?
False eyleashes to pull everything together.
Good God that is a fantastic dress!
Ooh, I was going to say thick black tights and ankle boots too, but then I remembered that my knowledge of fashion is shaky to say the least.
That is indeed a fabulous dress - I bet you look brilliant in it!
If you're going for boots then it has to be knee boots.
...
What?
:D
Thanks all, for your halpful suggestions - except for Rad and Greavsie, who were quite frankly rubbish. And kinky.
Tights not a possibility, as the split goes right up to beneath my, um, decolletage, but skinny jeans/capri pants/ankle boots/velvet loons definitely an idea. I will have a house-warming (if I ever get into my new place) and you are all invited to come wearing sixties costumes/silver outfits, as you prefer.
Tch! I dunno... Someone asks for advice and what happens when you give it?
*shakes head and continues tutting*
Could you sew it? Or sew some nice fabric into the split to make it look like it was like that in the first place? That is what I would do, or at least sew the rip at the top so it doesn't split anyore when you are wearing it...
Hi Babs, that was my first thought - I think the split is part of the design, not a tear, but wearing a slip underneath might work.
I agree with Rad - knee boots - absolutely. Black tights - as thick as you can get them.
Oh and also I think a slip - or we take it to a seamstress and get them to sew it up slightly.
See, see. I notice you don't call Bad Sarah 'rubbish and kinky!'
:D
Black leggings and boots or shoe-boot. Lovely dress. x
