Now you're allowed to join in those tedious conversations at dinner parties.

(As opposed to the really tedious conversations, which are about children.)

Thanks, my dears. Rosie, give me a moment and I'll be on it.

I felt quite trepidatious about going there today for the first time - I only saw it inside once, and thought 'What if I find I've made a hideous mistake?' But when I stepped in the door it felt like home right away, even empty as it is. I think I got something in my eye...

My first night in my new flat I spent eating pickled egg and chips on an inflatable bed.

It still felt good.

I have got a really nice sofa bed you can have if you want it. I am planning on replacing it despite the fact there is nothing wrong with it. And they sing sha la la la la la la Girls Talk!

Why, Miss Annie, them's the prettiest keys I ever did see.

When can I imagine you nicely ensconced?

ha - when I picked up my keys on Thursday I dithered for a whole two hours before going to the flat - exactly the same fear that since early June when I last saw it, it would ahve turned into a hideous error.

Thanks BiB - over the next few weeks I've got to get it sorted before moving in properly.

GSE - ah, I'm so pleased it wasn't just me - I didn't rush there either.

Congratulations! Fantabulous news. Good luck with the move. I was excited enough by the moment that the door closed behind the removal men in my rented flat. I can't imagine how great the feeling must be to call somewhere your own. Wonderful.
