Rise

See here. Free music! Yes, it is in Finsbury Park,* which is just a big stretch of grass for dogs to wee on and alcoholics to pass out on, and is not on a par with any other London park IMHO, but still, free music, in the cause of anti-racism, which we all need to show our support with in these troubled times.

Plus it stars KELIS, KELIS, yes for free! (She is my same sex crush of choice, if I was, you know, a bloke, or that way inclined. )

* and Dagenham, but I'm not that committed to the cause.

Nothing wrong with Dagenham. I misspent a lot of my youth there.

Actually, scratch that. It's a shithole!

I'd do Kelis too, she's very high on my LILTS list. Especially after the vid to Milkshake.

*slobbers*

Oh, I don't know - FP has a cracking playpark if you've an infant who needs amusing.

It is indeed, rad. That's why I fled to Germany.

The Dagenham Town Show has banned "political" stalls, as their only answer to stopping the BNP from having one (who will be leafleting outside in protest, while the Scientologists are allowed to peddle their rubbish inside).

Luckily the Hollies will be headlining ("The Hollies have retained their status, dignity and cool over their 5 decades in music. Let your hair down to their well known hits including 'He ain't heavy' and 'The air that I breathe'."), and beforehand Libery X ("The band proud to be pop shot to fame on the TV show 'Popstars'."), "X Factor finalist brothers Carl and Andy Pemberton", and the Kaiser Killers, a "Kaiser Chiefs and Killers tribute band".

What I mean is, "luckily I'll be on a train rapidly moving out of the country about 2 hours before this all begins".

I also therefore will have to miss the Monster Trucks, Vinny "the silent clown", and won't find out if the one-time World's Strongest Man whose name I can't remember will be there to toss a tree trunk while doing advertising for Irn-Bru, as was the case I last saw this "spectacle" in around 1993.

Rad, I want to know what LILTS is, but on the other hand I'm scared to ask.

Quink, I never knew that. I've never made it that far across the park, to be fair.

Karl-Marx-Strasse, now you are really selling it to me...

I might tell if you ask nicely. :)

I was quite up for going to Rise as there was great food last year (not too keen on the testers of yicky new flavours of Supermalt, mind) and I love Saint Etienne, but I was about to go out when it started really hammering with rain. So I stayed in and read the Alastair Campbell diaries instead. In my bikini, as it was a RUBBISH, HALF-ARSED storm that did not get rid of any humidity and awfulness at all. I am so kooky and interesting it hurts sometimes.

Did you go? How was it?

Violet, I do not know what Supermalt is, let alone know about its new flavours. No, I did not make it to Rise, bah...

It's *adopts Vic Reeves MC style voice* Ladies I'd Love To Shag!

Never let it be said that I am not the silver tongued cavalier of the east. :)

I'm thinking of making it an occasional feature on my blog. But then I think I might lose at least 3 of my 4 readers. :D
