Ah, my sentiments are the same as D above. Hope it makes it back to the ocean. I'm sure Blair will try and make political capital out of it, you know, New Labour, new whales or some such thing.
First I saw it was breaking news on the pub telly yesterday afternoon. According to the Beeb it looks like they now have it captured near in waters near Battersea - hopefully it can have a happy ending.
I rather like the French approach to this sort of thing where two minutes after the whale was dead it would be canned and on the shelves of the nearest shop. Speaking of the French, well of horsey types, whenever I go to France I make it my duty to eat horse. It's a solemn thing, but necessary.
Is nothing sacred? Do you torture fluffy kittens too?
Actually, this was more or less the conversation in our house as we watched the whole sorry saga unfold, ie, what will happen to the whale now, will it be burial at sea or will whale burgers be featuring on the menu at Gordon Ramsay very soon?

Some four tonnes they say. Just a little kid lost and confused. Hope they manage to help the poor creature.

Bastard!
I see it's just been captured and hopefully will soon be returned to open sea!
He finally achieves his dream and makes it to the big city, and then they cart him off back to the sea..I bet you he is not happy.

Poor whale *sniff* Hope he's eating plankton in heaven.
That's sad... We have a whale who comes up the Delaware River and visits us in Philly once in a while.

And Gordon Ramsay's customers would be going: "Whale meat again?"
Cream - ouch! ouch! You're worse than my dad for the puns :-)
The Sun's Pun was 'Celebrity Big Blubber'. Groan!
My favourite Sun headline is the sensitive "Ducks of Death" (re: bird flu)
