Have you seen the film Grizzly Man Annie? I watched it just the other night. Lot's of lovely Alaskan bears there too, and one not so nice bear.
All I'll say is that I'm happy to watch them on a web cam but I wouldn't want to get too close to the buggers that's for sure.

Haven't seen that one Heather, it sounds great. One of the best programmes I saw was a man whose job was bringing up orphaned baby polar bears.
I know what you mean - but I think their dangerousness (is that a word?) actually adds to their appeal.
