Annie,

Thanks for the invite. I'd love to be there but live in Manchester so won't. However, if I did attend I'm sure I'd be an assett and get lots of questions right. I look nothing like those coves in the photo but can make the effort when called.

Your Northern mate,

Dan Flynn,

currently reading William Boyd's Restless.

They mention Ulysses 31 on the site so I'm there, barring any work-related suicide/cirrhosis.

Somewhere in the world there's a picture of me, aged 18, in that stance. (I was in Llewtrah's chair.)

And the first question I got right was about Prince William, who must have been about three years old at the time.

God, I feel elderly.

Can't make it, sorry, but will be willing you all on.

Hi Geoff! Right - it's all those brains you know, which makes the hair grow so luxuriantly.

Billy - shhhh! I stole it off Google images.

Betty - you know you're tempted...

Dan - aww, I wish you could. I love William Boyd, he's one of my favourites. Waiting til it's out in paperback...

Violet - hurray! Tsk. Hope they are not working you too hard.

Tim - is there photographic evidence? How we'd love to see it. Got to admit, I find the idea of going on TV terrifying, especially going on TV to answer questions by scary Bamber/Jeremy type (I'd be the type to fluff Richard & Judy's 'What colour is an orange?' quiz question out of terror) but you've been on lots of times...
