Waiting for the man

It's day 2 of enforced house arrest. (Flatmate L, who is fierce on the phone for a living, managed to get them to come back today.)

I've cleaned everything. I've wrapped all the presents. No new books to read. Daytime tv... The time slot is 1.00 - 6.00 pm.

There is a nearly-full bottle of wine in the kitchen. It is calling me. Tell me this, is 1.00 pm too early to start drinking?

Nooooo, it's christmastime Annie. Daytime drinking is positively encouraged. In fact it may be wise to get yourself a back up bottle, just in case like.

I'm glad you said that Rad, as could not wait for anyone to comment... If I nip out for a second bottle though, that will be the moment he arrives. Wonder if I can get home delivery?

I'm with Rad. If you can't drink before Neighbours starts at Xmas; when can you?

Isn't there a small urchin standing under the nearby streetlight, like there always is at Christmas, waiting for a call to run an errand?

Well, now should be about 10 pm in England...so what did you eventually do?

thanks for your support, the Curve. Greavsie, if only. I think the small urchins round here would be straight down the crack house with your money.

GG, the Gas Man arrived, saving me from alcoholism. Six foot tall, bearing a tool box, he was worth the wait. ;-)
