Insufficient grit

Was interested to read this in the Daily Scum:

'Well I'm absolutely fuming' said Mrs A Taxpayer. 'I don't pay my hard-earned taxes just to have these teachers sit around watching porn and eating biscuits in bed. This health and safety business is political correctness gone mad! And they're missing such crucial, vital time in their learning. I don't know why they couldn't do what they did in my day, and spend the time colouring pictures together in the hall.

'Not only did I have to take time off work, losing my company literally billions in the two days I was out, but I had to look after my own children for two whole days! These teachers have no idea how tedious and inconvenient entertaining small children can be.'

Mayor Boris Johnson appeared to back frustrated parents.
'It's not an excuse to skive, you know' he was quoted as saying, shortly before lunch at the Dorchester with some visiting Chinese dignitaries.

Which only leaves us with one question to answer: jaffa cakes or custard creams?

Barack wasn't thrilled about his kids missing school either. He said, and I quote, that he was going to "try to introduce some flinty, Chicago toughness in this town."

My question is, what is 'flinty' toughness?

Please let it be something ghetto fabulous.

Doesn't flint break quite easily? In any case I don't think you'd want two people being flintily tough at each other. Unless they're standing outside, in the rain.

Oh come on, so-called woolly liberal teachers wouldn't be watching porn or eating biscuits in bed during their spare time at the taxpayers' expense! We all know that they'd be knitting yoghurt, eating brown rice and making up placards to take to the next Save The Greenham Common Whale demonstration, at the taxpayers' expense! Oh, and probably wearing sandals, at the tax payers' expense!

...whereas right-wing teachers would be watching aforementioned porn. I really think so. That's certainly what Mrs. (what's wrong with 'Ms.'?) Taxpayer A apparently wanted to be doing instead of taking care of her own children.

I mean, who would have given 'watching porn' as an example of teachers' spare time activities? I wouldn't.

Porn? How fabulous...

Ken would have been down the Chinese with a visiting delegation from Dorchester.

Does the Mail not just consider anything that it disapproves of porn? In which case, the majority of the National Curriculum.

The teachers were probably just doing science prep. Witchcraft! Burn it with fire!

Hello - computer has bust again, blogging illegally from work. Time for that laptop, probably. Don't ever buy Dell.

Ooh, this post made me laugh, and so did Rog's comment. And Betty's.
